A movement of hope

Listen to BBC Radio Sheffield interview Arise team member Ben Woollard

This Spring, something new is taking root in Sheffield. Followers of Jesus from across the city will be joining together in a journey of prayer.

We need you to join us in our mission to walk every street in Sheffield, praying for those who live and work there and inviting the Spirit to bring new life to the city in a special way this Easter.

Church leaders from across Sheffield have committed to supporting the Arise Sheffield movement and have been sharing details with their communities over the past few weeks.

There are three main elements to Arise Sheffield:

  1. Prayer Arise and cover Sheffield in prayer. Followers of Jesus across Sheffield will be using the Arise prayer-walking app to pray for streets near their home, school, or workplace during their daily walk. The vision: to prayer-walk every street in Sheffield between 1-31 March 2021.
  2. Share – Local church groups are devising additional ways to share their faith with their communities. Some groups are decorating Easter windows, delivering the gift of a ‘Real Easter Egg’ to nearby homes, or hosting an online discipleship course.
  3. InviteArise Sheffield is sending an Easter card to every home in Sheffield. The card will invite local people to watch a newly-made online video about the Gospel message, and followers of Jesus in Sheffield.

There are lots of ways to join in with Arise:

Register your details and we will send you updates about how to download and use the app, tips about prayer walking, invitations to virtual prayer events, and more.

We would love for you, and every follower of Jesus in Sheffield to be involved in this movement for hope in our city. Will you join us?
