Arise Hallow

Arise Hallow

What normally happens in your neighbourhood on October 31?

Maybe your neighbours decorate their houses with haunting images. People might dress up in harrowing costumes, and local children might knock on your door asking for treats.

As a Christian, it can be hard to know how to respond. We might be tempted to turn off all the lights, pretending we're not home on Halloween. But Jesus said, 'You are the light of the world'.

Through Arise:Hallow, we can change the story about Halloween for believers across Sheffield.

You could be a hope-bringer, lighting up a window in your house with a message of hope.

You could choose clothing or accessories that help start faith conversations

And, as you prepare to give sweets to passing trick-or-treaters, you could give a gift that never runs out. Arise is creating Hallow goody bags, containing a mini Gospel of John, and a children's Bible storybook, for you to fill with sweets and give to trick-or-treaters this year.

Ask your church leader to order a free Arise:Hallow pack - containing Wear Your Faith Fortnight badges and Hallow goody bags - to help your community light up the darkness this Autumn.

Wear Your Faith Fortnight

22 October - 5 November

Together, we can break free from cultural pressure and shine out across Sheffield. If you wear a symbol of your faith over the two weeks sandwiching Halloween, you could inspire and encourage others around you. Whether it’s on a pin badge or necklace, a hoodie, bag or water bottle, when you shine brightly you’re helping others to do the same. Sign up now to receive updates and encouragement.

Streets of Light

30 October - 5 November

“...As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Your house can be a powerful witness: a beacon of hope in your neighbourhood. Streets of Light invites you to shine in the darkness by creating a window display celebrating light, hope and love. Sign up by 16 October to be included on the printed trail map for your local area.
