Bishop’s Badge Competition

Find your design inspiration here!

Bishop Sophie has invited you to design a beautiful badge for her - and other Christians - to wear over Halloween this year, for Wear Your Faith Fortnight.

What should I draw?

We’d love to see you bring your ideas to life about God, Jesus and love. Scroll down the page for free videos and apps to inspire you.

You might want to design a badge that shows:

  • What God’s love looks like to you

  • A story about Jesus that you love

  • Anything else that shows how you feel about faith.

Design tips

  • Keep your design simple: one big idea instead of lots of little ones

  • Use no more than three different colours.

Deadline

  • Hand in your completed design to your teacher, leader or parent by 26 June: they need to post it to the Diocese of Sheffield by 28 June.

  • For more information about the competition and how to enter, visit the guidance page for leaders.

Design Inspiration

Wondering what to draw? Take a look at these free apps and videos to find out more about God’s love, and the life of Jesus.

God for Kids App is a completely free app for 4-8 year olds exploring who God is, and what God is like through interactive games and stories. Download it for Apple, Android, or Kindle here.

Go Chatter makes videos about God for children and teenagers. Churches can buy the videos, but you can browse and watch them for free on the Go Chatter website. Here are two to get you started.

Superbook has a website and a free app with games and videos retelling the stories of the Bible, aimed at ages 6-11. You’ll need to create a free account to watch videos online and save your game high scores, or you can simply download the app to access all the content. Download it for Apple, Android, or Kindle here, or take a look at the YouTube videos below.

If you’re a teen or tween, you might want to read in the Bible to find inspiration for your design. The Bible Society have a list of the Top Ten Favourite Bible stories, and a link next to each one loads the original text.
